FUA logo

Florence—Firenze in Italian—was the birthplace of the Renaissance. To walk its streets today is to tread in the footsteps of the last seven centuries of history and culture. The capital of Tuscany, Florence is truly the heart of Europe.  FUA facilities span the city center of Florence in 7 diverse locations.

Through a special partnership with the Florence University of the Arts (FUA), Adelphi students have the unique opportunity to earn Adelphi credit in Italy.  Studying abroad at FUA is characterized by the institution’s efforts in cultural integration. The institution’s position places FUA in direct contact with the city’s culture, movements, and events. The mission is to offer university level academics and services that not only bring about learning, but most importantly an active understanding, participation and contribution to the city by students from all academic fields, personal backgrounds, and nationalities.

Short programs are offered year-round. Students can opt to take one 3-week short program or combine two sessions for a total of 6 weeks. One 3-week session grants 3 semester credits or 4.5 quarter credits. The combined option of two 3-week sessions grants 6 semester / 9 quarter credits. Summer sessions are also offered on a 1, 4, and 6-week basis.

FUA offers a range of classes from Art to Social Psychology (and everything in between).  Classes are taught in English (except for the Italian language classes). Click HERE for course lists.

Housing and Meals
University-arranged accommodation is offered to all students attending FUA in shared apartments throughout Florence.  Housing options are self-catered, meaning students arrange for their own meals - fully equipped kitchens are supplied and housing is located a short walk from markets and grocery stores.  Once an application is accepted, FUA staff will place you in appropriate housing.

Apartment Location: students are housed in apartments throughout the historic center of Florence, within a 15-20 walk to Palazzi and FUA facilities. The Housing Office will complete assignments only for students who request housing within the designated deadline.

Home stays may also be an option for short programs. If you are interested, please inquire with FUA housing.
