Video: Study Abroad at John Cabot University in Rome!

Overviewrome map

Through a special partnership with John Cabot University in Rome, Adelphi students have the unique opportunity to earn Adelphi credit in Italy.  JCU is a full-fledged American university that welcomes visiting students to its community.  This means you will have access to the resources (in English) you need to succeed academically, while joining a global network of students and faculty in Rome.  JCU's beautiful campus is located in the heart of Rome, in the historic Trastevere neighborhood, just across the river from some of Rome's greatest attractions.

Academics

JCU offers a range of classes from Art and Business to Political and Social Sciences (and everything in between).  Classes are taught in English (except for the Italian language classes).

Find a full list of JCU courses here. If the term you want to study abroad is not yet posted, refer to the same semester of the previous year.

Popular course that students have taken in the past:
Adelphi requires a minimum GPA of 2.5 to study abroad. John Cabot University has a 2.75 GPA requirement to be admitted into their program. If you do not meet these requirements and hope to study abroad, please email cie@adelphi.edu.

Housing & Meals

The Office of Housing and Residential Life has worked hard over the years to offer students an opportunity to live comfortably in a community of American students while simultaneously encouraging students to integrate into a more Italian lifestyle and experience. Although the majority of students housed with JCU will be placed in buildings shared by their classmates and peers, students are given the opportunity to live like Romans and should be mature, open to new experiences and ready for an international 'off-campus' housing experience.  Students have the options of purchasing a meal plan to be used in Tiber Cafe in the Tiber Student Center.

Student Services Support

The Student Services staff is always available to answer any questions you may have about staying safe in the city. The Student Services Department provides the student body with many opportunities for involvement and leadership through programs that nurture personal growth and community development, while enhancing the quality of student life at JCU.

The Cultural Program encourages all students to take advantage of the many activities and trips it provides throughout the semesters. These cultural Activities and Trips have been created to educate students about Italy in a fun, "hands-on" method. The Cultural Program organizes local guided tours, Italian cooking classes, visits to the theater, wine tastings, day trips and weekend trips.
